Chapter Two

Respond to 2 of the 5 questions listed below. Follow the same instructions from the last chapter's blog.
1- Reread the account of Liberty 5-3000. What character traits are revealed in this brief description?

2-Of the whole range of feelings possible to man (joy, excitement, anger, embarrassment, etc.), why is fear the prevalent emotion in this society?

3-Using descriptions from the text, contrast Equality with the rest of the men living in this society.

4-Equality says “a word steals into our mind, as we look upon our brothers”. What is that word and why would that be the word he thinks of?

5-Explain the following terms: A. The Great Truth B. the Unmentionable Times C. the Uncharted Forest D. the Evil Ones E. the Great Rebirth

    question 1: Liberty 5-300 is described as a blade of iron. They're strong, and beautiful to him.
    question 2: Fear is prevalent because if they do one wrong thing, they can die. Fear is very controlling, so this is how they keep everyone listening.

    2. They seen what happened to the man that was burnt alive for having emotions.

    1. He discribed her as straight and thin as a bord. Also that her hair was as golden as the sun.
    2. I think the people are scared of what will happen if there is a change in Anthem.

    2. They are scared to express there feelings because they could get introuble and may be put to death.

    1. Liberty 5-300 was described as a iron blade. Liberty was fearless and had golden hair. "Golden one"

    1. She's compared to a blade of iron. which means she is strong. Her hair was as golden as the sun which means it was bright.
    2. They're all terrified to break the rules, because they don't want to get injured.

    2. There is a lot of laws in that society. They can get in trouble easily for stealing. They can be killed for doing something wrong.

    2. fear is important in socitey so people will listen. Without fear in a society their would be chaos. You need fear in a society so people will stay out of trouble.
    3. equality is diffrent from every one else because he is tall. Equality is diffrent because he breaks the laws. Equality belvies in being his own person

    2. Of all the emotions men can feel I think fear is the most prevalent emotion because, the world they live in is a world where everybody is equal and, that if they do something wrong they will be frowned upon.

    4. This sacred word would probably have to be, "I". People like Equality don't have the option to do their best, because you will be frowned upon if you are superior to you brothers.
